Delhi: Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal has hit back at the opposition over allegations related to environmental clearances and protection of the Aravalli range, accusing rival parties of deliberately spreading misinformation to create political narratives.

Speaking on the issue, Meghwal said the Union government has already taken clear and firm steps to safeguard the fragile Aravalli ecosystem. He pointed out that Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav has laid down detailed guidelines and restrictions to prevent damage to the region.

“Our Environment Minister has given complete clarity on this matter and has imposed necessary restrictions. Protecting the Aravalli is not just the government’s duty, it is a shared responsibility of all,” Meghwal said.

The Law Minister alleged that the opposition is attempting to mislead the public by twisting facts, claiming this is part of a broader political strategy. Drawing a parallel with past controversies, Meghwal said similar tactics were used during the 2024 elections.

“In 2024, false claims were made that the Constitution was in danger. This kind of misinformation is repeatedly used to set a political agenda. The current narrative around the Aravalli issue is no different,” he added.
