Fresh violence erupted in Noida on Tuesday as ongoing workers’ protests escalated into large-scale clashes in Sector-121 and Phase 2, leaving several police personnel injured after intense stone pelting by demonstrators.

The unrest quickly spread to Sectors 70, 71, 80, and surrounding industrial zones, where protesters allegedly targeted police teams and damaged a police bus. The vehicle suffered extensive damage during the attack, while several officers were injured in the chaos.
Tension Near Residential Areas
The violence reportedly intensified near the Cleo County society area, where police were addressing groups of workers regarding the Uttar Pradesh government’s revised minimum wage policy for labourers in Gautam Buddh Nagar.
It was during these interactions that stone pelting began, triggering panic and forcing security forces to respond.
Monday Violence Still Fresh in Memory
The latest clashes come just a day after widespread violence on Monday, when factory workers demanding higher wages turned aggressive. Vehicles, including police SUVs, were torched, public property was vandalised, and industrial activity was severely disrupted.
Traffic movement across multiple industrial zones came to a standstill due to ongoing unrest.
Police Response and Government Action
Police used controlled force to disperse crowds and later registered FIRs against two social media accounts accused of spreading rumours linked to the violence.
The Uttar Pradesh government has also formed a special committee to investigate the situation and restore order in affected areas.
Officials said the unrest began in the afternoon and continued intermittently until around 5 pm, with sporadic clashes reported across multiple locations.
