Patna: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday sent a strong message to political opponents while addressing a massive poll rally in Bihar. Emphasising the unity and stability of the ruling alliance, Shah declared that there were “no seats vacant” either in the Centre or in Bihar.
“CM ya PM koi seat khali nahi hai, yahan Nitish Kumar hain, wahan PM Modi hain,” said Amit Shah, asserting that Nitish Kumar will continue as Chief Minister of Bihar while Narendra Modi remains the Prime Minister of India.
During his address, Shah praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for enhancing Bihar’s prestige by conferring the Bharat Ratna on former CM Karpoori Thakur, calling it a mark of respect for the state’s legacy.
Touching upon national security, Shah recalled the recent Pahalgam terror attack, stating,
“When the Pahalgam attack happened, Prime Minister Modi carried out Operation Sindoor.” He further highlighted the government’s decisive action against extremism, noting that the Popular Front of India (PFI) had been banned and its members arrested.
Encouraging voters to ensure a clean sweep for the NDA in the upcoming Assembly polls, Shah said the alliance represents youth and merit, citing the example of 25-year-old singer Maithili Thakur, who was given a ticket despite having no political background.
“We gave a ticket to Maithili Thakur, who has no political background. Can this ever happen in RJD or Congress? Lalu ji wants to make his son the Chief Minister, and Sonia ji wants to make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister,”
Shah remarked, taking a sharp dig at the opposition.
Meanwhile, the Mahagathbandhan on Tuesday unveiled its 32-page joint manifesto titled “Bihar Ka Tejashwi Pran”, promising wide-ranging welfare measures if voted to power.
The manifesto pledges:
The Waqf Amendment Bill will be put on hold, with Waqf property management made more transparent and welfare-oriented.
The management of Buddhist temples in Bodh Gaya will be handed over to members of the Buddhist community.
Farmers will be assured of MSP for all crops, with Mandi and Market Committees revived at multiple levels.
The APMC Act will be reinstated to strengthen agricultural markets.
