Setting an aggressive tone for the 2026 Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party has released its 31-point ‘Sankalp Patra’ in Guwahati, promising a flood-free Assam, massive job creation, and a strong push on development, welfare, and indigenous rights.
The manifesto was unveiled by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the presence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and state BJP president Dilip Saikia. The party projected a vision of a “secure and developed Assam,” focusing on identity, land, and growth.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted that the roadmap aims to protect indigenous rights while accelerating economic expansion, while Sitharaman pointed to the state’s transformation over the past decade under BJP rule.
