Srinagar: Indian Army organised celebration of New Year along with youth and kids of nearby villages of Haphruda to welcome New Year 2022.
Once heavily infested with militancy Haphruda celebrated this new year with the Indian Army and welcomed 2022 with hopes of peace, prosperity and happiness.
The event kickstarted with folk songs reliving the culture and traditions of the area which was performed by Shabir Bajaad and Nasir Ahmed. Thereafter kids welcomed Chillai Kalan and enjoyed playing with snow and making a snowman, a snowball throwing bout was conducted between children of Wooder and Haphruda to celebrate the New Year and Chillai Kalan.
A total of 62 children participated in the event and it culminated with high spirits of youngsters displaying enthusiasm and closeness with the Indian Army, children danced and rejoiced together freely over music and welcomed the new year.
