Washington, D.C.: Kash Patel, an Indian-origin national security expert, has been officially confirmed as the ninth Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) after securing approval from the U.S. Senate on Thursday. In his first statement after taking charge, Patel made it clear that the agency will take a relentless approach against those who pose a threat to the nation, vowing to pursue them worldwide.

Expressing gratitude for his confirmation, Patel emphasized his commitment to reforming the FBI, making it more transparent, accountable, and free from political bias. He thanked President Donald Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi for their trust, stating that he is determined to rebuild public confidence in the bureau.

“The FBI has a long history of safeguarding America, but recent years have seen a decline in public trust due to the politicization of justice. That era ends now,” Patel wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
