Petrol Cheaper by ₹5, Diesel by ₹3 at Nayara Pumps as Falling Crude Oil Prices Bring Relief to Motorists

After weeks of volatility caused by tensions in the Middle East, private fuel retailer Nayara Energy has reduced the prices of petrol and diesel across its nationwide retail network, offering immediate relief to vehicle owners.

The revised prices came into effect from July 1, with petrol becoming cheaper by ₹5 per litre and diesel by ₹3 per litre at nearly 7,000 Nayara fuel stations across India.

Global Crude Prices Trigger Fuel Price Cut

The reduction follows a sharp decline in international crude oil prices after geopolitical tensions in the Middle East eased and concerns over disruptions to global oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz subsided.

As global crude became cheaper, refiners’ input costs declined, allowing Nayara Energy to pass on the benefit to consumers through lower retail fuel prices.

On July 1, Brent crude was trading at around $73 per barrel, significantly lower than the levels seen during the peak of the recent regional conflict.

Fuel Prices Differ Across States

Although the price cut has been implemented across Nayara’s retail network, the final selling price continues to vary from state to state due to differences in Value Added Tax (VAT), transportation expenses and local levies.

In Bengaluru, petrol at Nayara outlets is now priced at ₹111.20 per litre, while diesel costs ₹98.80 per litre.

In Faridabad, petrol is selling at ₹103 per litre and diesel at ₹98.84 per litre.

In Maharashtra, Nayara outlets are charging around ₹111.66 per litre for petrol and ₹97.99 per litre for diesel.

Fuel dealers also said prices may differ slightly even within the same state because transportation costs are factored into the final retail price, especially for outlets located farther from fuel depots.

Consumers to Benefit Immediately

The latest revision translates into noticeable savings for regular commuters.

Motorists filling a 40-litre petrol tank at Nayara stations will now save around ₹200, while diesel vehicle owners will save approximately ₹120 on a similar refill.

The move comes as fuel expenses continue to remain one of the biggest recurring costs for households and businesses.

Will Other Fuel Companies Follow?

The price reduction has sparked speculation over whether state-run oil marketing companies, including Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum, will also revise retail fuel prices.

So far, no such announcement has been made by the public sector companies. Their retail prices remain unchanged, with petrol and diesel continuing to be sold at existing rates.

Industry observers believe that if international crude oil prices remain stable in the coming weeks, other fuel retailers may also consider reducing prices to stay competitive.

Nayara Energy, which operates one of India’s largest refineries at Vadinar in Gujarat with an annual refining capacity of 20 million tonnes, has become the first major fuel retailer to lower pump prices following the recent decline in global crude oil prices.
