PM Modi Chairs High-Level Meeting With Top Bureaucrats, Pushes Governance Reforms and Aatmanirbhar Bharat Agenda

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting with senior secretaries to the Government of India at Seva Teerth, directing ministries to accelerate governance reforms, improve coordination and ensure that government policies deliver measurable benefits to citizens.

The meeting focused on improving administrative efficiency, reducing regulatory hurdles and advancing India’s long-term vision of becoming a developed nation through stronger institutional reforms and policy execution.

Focus on Governance and Self-Reliance

A major part of the discussions centred on two national priorities—simplifying regulations to improve both the ease of doing business and the ease of living, while also strengthening the country’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat mission through targeted reforms and greater institutional capacity.

Senior officials from various ministries presented updates on flagship initiatives being implemented under their respective departments and explained how these programmes are contributing to the government’s broader development goals.

The review also included discussions on sector-specific challenges, future policy priorities and measures required to improve governance and public service delivery.

PM Modi Calls for a ‘Whole-of-Government’ Approach

During the meeting, the Prime Minister urged ministries to move beyond departmental boundaries and work together more closely to ensure faster and more effective implementation of government programmes.

He stressed the importance of adopting a “Whole-of-Government Approach”, encouraging ministries to break administrative silos and improve inter-ministerial collaboration for better policy outcomes.

PM Modi also emphasised greater use of the PM GatiShakti platform, saying integrated planning and data-driven coordination would help departments execute projects more efficiently and support evidence-based decision-making.

Citizen-Centric Governance Remains the Priority

The Prime Minister reminded senior bureaucrats that the success of any government initiative should ultimately be measured by its impact on people’s lives.

He urged officials to ensure that every policy and welfare programme translates into visible improvements for citizens and that the benefits of governance reach every section of society in an effective and timely manner.

Roadmap Towards Viksit Bharat 2047

The meeting formed part of the Centre’s broader strategy to achieve the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047, the vision of transforming India into a developed nation by the centenary of Independence.

The government believes that the coming decade will be crucial in driving structural reforms, strengthening economic growth and expanding opportunities across sectors.

Follow-Up to Council of Ministers’ Meeting

The review comes about a month after Prime Minister Modi met the Council of Ministers, where he outlined the government’s priorities for the years ahead.

During that meeting, he highlighted the need to continue improving the ease of living, enhance the ease of doing business, create more employment opportunities for young people and maintain the momentum of economic reforms.

Tuesday’s meeting with senior secretaries reinforced those priorities, with the Prime Minister calling for faster implementation, stronger coordination among ministries and a sustained focus on delivering results that directly improve the lives of citizens.
