Two ministers were also sworn into the new cabinet alongside the Chief Minister. Malladi Krishan Rao, representing the Yanam region, and A Namassivayam took oath as cabinet ministers in the NDA-led administration.

Malladi Krishan Rao delivered his oath in Telugu, reflecting the linguistic identity of Yanam, one of Puducherry’s enclaves located within Andhra Pradesh.

Senior BJP figures, including Nitin Nabin and BL Santhosh, were present during the ceremony.

NDA Retains Control In Puducherry

The National Democratic Alliance retained power in Puducherry after securing victory in the Assembly elections held on April 9. Following the election outcome, Droupadi Murmu formally appointed Rangasamy as Chief Minister.

Rangasamy remains one of Puducherry’s most influential political figures, having led multiple governments in the Union Territory over the years.
