Mumbai Police have launched a probe after receiving a WhatsApp message threatening to assassinate Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The message, sent to the traffic police helpline in the early hours of Saturday, detailed a plot involving two ISI agents and a bomb blast targeting the Prime Minister.

The sender’s phone number was traced to Ajmer district in Rajasthan, and a police team has been dispatched to apprehend the suspect. Preliminary investigations suggest the sender may be mentally unstable or under the influence of alcohol, but officials have emphasized that all angles are being thoroughly examined. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Police officials noted that the traffic police helpline has received similar hoax threats in the past. In November, a threatening call was made to the same helpline, claiming a plot to assassinate PM Modi. The caller, identified as a woman, is believed to be mentally disturbed, but investigations into that case are still ongoing.

Authorities are treating the latest threat with utmost seriousness, stating that all security protocols are being followed. Mumbai Police have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities as investigations into the current threat continue.
