Mumbai: As the grand Ganeshotsav celebrations begin on August 27 and continue until September 6, 2025, the Mumbai Police has rolled out one of its biggest-ever security arrangements to ensure safety and smooth conduct of the festival across the city and suburbs.

According to officials, the force has deployed 36 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), 51 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), 2,637 police officers, and 14,430 police personnel. This brings the total security deployment to an unprecedented 17,154 personnel, working round-the-clock to manage massive gatherings, processions, and crowded pandals.

To fortify security further, specialized forces including the Railway Protection Force (RPF), State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) platoons, Quick Response Team (QRT), Riot Control Unit, Delta Force, Combat Units, and Home Guard Units have been pressed into service. Their responsibilities range from crowd control and emergency response to preventing communal tensions during the 10-day festival.

For public assistance, Mumbai Police has urged citizens to dial 100, 112, or 103 in case of emergencies. Officials emphasized that law and order, traffic management, and anti-terror vigilance will be top priorities this year, given the anticipated millions of devotees visiting major mandals such as Lalbaugcha Raja, Andhericha Raja, and Khetwadi Ganraj.
