Mumbai: Mumbai police have arrested two individuals from Buldhana in connection with an email threatening to bomb the car of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
The accused have been identified as Mangesh Achyutrao Wayal (35) and Abhay Gajanan Shingane (22), both residents of Deulgaon Mahi in Buldhana district. A police team apprehended them from Deulgaon in Maharashtra after an investigation traced the source of the threat.
The email, which contained the bomb threat, was received at Goregaon Police Station, prompting immediate action from law enforcement agencies. Following a detailed probe, the Mumbai police tracked down the accused and took them into custody.
An FIR has been registered under sections 351(3), 351(4), and 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Authorities are now investigating the motive behind the threat and whether the accused had any links to larger conspiracies.
