Mumbai: In a consumer-friendly move ahead of the festive season, Mother Dairy has slashed prices on its packaged milk and other dairy items. The 1-liter toned milk tetra pack will now retail at Rs 75, down from Rs 77, while the 450 ml pack is priced at Rs 32, reduced from Rs 33.

The company has extended the price cuts to other popular products, including paneer, ghee, butter, and flavored milkshakes, offering significant relief to customers just before the new GST rates take effect on September 22.

Following the GST reforms announced by the government on September 3, which reduce taxes on essential items like milk, paneer, and butter, Mother Dairy has proactively passed on the full benefit of the reduced tax to consumers. Most of its products fall under either zero GST or the lowest 5% slab, enabling the company to implement these cuts.

Paneer prices have also been adjusted: a 200g pack now costs Rs 92 (down from Rs 95), the 400g pack is Rs 174 (previously Rs 180), and malai paneer 200g is now Rs 97, down from Rs 100. Flavored milkshakes (180 ml) have also dropped slightly, priced at Rs 28, down from Rs 30.

Butter and ghee prices have been reduced as well. A 500g butter pack now costs Rs 285, down from Rs 305, while the 100g pack is Rs 58, reduced from Rs 62. Ghee prices have also been revised: a 1-liter carton is now Rs 645 (from Rs 675), 500 ml is Rs 330 (from Rs 345), and a 1-liter tin pack is Rs 720, down from Rs 750.
