Prime Minister Narendra Modi held separate high-level conversations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as tensions continue to escalate across West Asia.
During his telephonic discussion with Netanyahu, PM Modi conveyed India’s deep concern over the rapidly deteriorating regional situation. He underlined that protecting civilian lives must remain the foremost priority and stressed the urgent need for de-escalation.
In a message shared publicly, the Prime Minister reiterated India’s consistent position that hostilities should cease at the earliest. He emphasised that prolonged military confrontation would only increase instability and humanitarian suffering in the region.
India Urges Restraint and Dialogue
According to official sources, PM Modi highlighted the importance of diplomatic efforts and constructive dialogue to restore stability. India’s stance remains focused on peace, regional security, and preventing further loss of innocent lives.

In a separate call with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, PM Modi strongly condemned recent attacks targeting the UAE and expressed condolences over the reported loss of lives.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed India’s solidarity with the UAE during this challenging period and thanked the Emirati leadership for ensuring the safety and welfare of the large Indian diaspora living in the country.
India shares deep strategic, economic and people-to-people ties with the UAE, and officials indicated that both leaders discussed maintaining stability and safeguarding civilian populations.

The diplomatic outreach from New Delhi comes amid a sharp escalation in hostilities involving Israel, the United States and Iran. Recent military operations and retaliatory strikes have significantly heightened tensions across the Gulf region.
