A construction crane collapsed inside JP North Society in Mira Road (East), Mumbai, on Thursday, killing one person and causing extensive damage to several parked vehicles. The incident triggered panic among residents as the massive crane came crashing into the residential complex.
According to preliminary information, the crane was being used for ongoing construction work when it suddenly collapsed and fell into the society premises. Multiple vehicles parked in the compound were crushed under the impact.
Emergency teams and local authorities rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations. Officials have not yet confirmed the exact number of people injured or whether anyone remains trapped beneath the debris.
