Srinagar: The week-long celebration of Good Governance Week 2025, held under the banner “Sushasan Saptah – Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore,” concluded on Wednesday with the successful organization of mega grievance redressal camps at all Tehsil Headquarters across Kupwara district.
To mark the culmination of the campaign, the District Administration Kupwara organized special grievance redressal programmes in every tehsil, enabling senior administrative officers to interact directly with the public and address their grievances.
People from far-flung and remote areas participated in large numbers, raising various developmental and civic issues for timely redressal.
At Handwara, the grievance redressal camp was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara, Javed Naseem Masoodi, JKAS, at the Administrative Complex Meeting Hall. A large number of residents from different villages of Handwara sub-division attended the programme.
Officers from key line departments were present to ensure on-the-spot interaction and resolution of public grievances. During the interaction, issues related to road connectivity, irrigation schemes, ration distribution, drinking water supply, power supply, healthcare facilities, education, door-to-door garbage collection, and other civic amenities were raised.
The concerned officers responded to the grievances pertaining to their respective departments and provided immediate clarifications. Several issues were resolved on the spot, while directions were issued for the time-bound redressal of the remaining grievances.
Addressing the gathering, the ADC highlighted the significance of the Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore initiative in strengthening grassroots governance and ensuring efficient delivery of public services.
Similarly, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Kupwara, Peerzada Mumtaz Ahmad, chaired the grievance redressal camp at Tehsil Headquarters Kupwara, where numerous public issues were heard and several resolved through coordinated efforts of the concerned departments.
A similar camp was held at Tehsil Headquarters Sogam, chaired by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Lolab, Mudassir Ahmad. During these camps, various certificates and land-related documents were issued to beneficiaries, facilitating doorstep delivery of essential public services.
Meanwhile, mega grievance redressal events were also organized across other tehsils of the district, including Trehgam, Tangdar, Tarathpora, Langate, Drugmulla, Kralpora, and Zachaldara, chaired by the respective Tehsildars and Block Development Officers (BDOs) with active participation from line departments and the general public.
The successful conclusion of Good Governance Week 2025 reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to responsive, transparent, and people-centric governance.
