Dhaka: A massive fire broke out on Saturday at the Cargo Village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, sending thick plumes of smoke across the airport complex and prompting an immediate emergency response. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and authorities have not yet confirmed any casualties or injuries.
The blaze began around 3:00 pm in the airport’s main cargo storage area, quickly spreading and causing panic among personnel on site. Airport authorities immediately dispatched over 30 fire engines to Gate 8 of the Cargo Village, where firefighters are battling the flames under challenging conditions. Security personnel cordoned off the affected section to prevent further damage and ensure safety.
