Latur: Police have arrested a man for allegedly sexually assaulting his 14-year-old daughter in Maharashtra’s Latur district, officials reported on Thursday (March 6). The disturbing incident took place during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday in Deoni tehsil of the district.
According to a police official, the accused allegedly committed the crime after all family members had gone to sleep. “The man sexually assaulted his daughter at their house. When the girl raised an alarm, her mother tried to intervene and free her from his clutches, but he assaulted her and fled the scene,” the official stated.
The victim’s mother filed a formal complaint with the police, leading to the registration of a case against the accused. Following an investigation, the man was arrested and produced before a local court, which remanded him in judicial custody until March 19.
