Following the finalization of Lok Sabha seat allocation between the Congress and Samajwadi Party (SP) in Uttar Pradesh, the spotlight now shifts to Maharashtra’s political arena. All eyes are on the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition as people eagerly await the seat distribution among the three major parties: Congress, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Sharad Pawar, and Shiv Sena under Uddhav Thackeray’s leadership.

Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala addressed this pressing issue during a press conference following the state party meeting. The Mahagathbandhan is gearing up to contest the elections unitedly, with continuous discussions within the alliance resulting in an agreement on seat sharing. The final decision on seat allocation is slated to be made during the Congress state executive committee meeting scheduled for February 27th and 28th, as Chennithala disclosed.

Ahead of the state party meeting, Chennithala underscored the strength of the Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra. He reiterated the commitment to winning as many seats as possible through concerted efforts and ongoing discussions with all allied parties. Dialogues have also been conducted with Prakash Ambedkar, president of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, further emphasizing the coalition’s inclusive approach.

Additionally, discussions involving NCP chief Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray, and Prakash Ambedkar have taken place. Prakash Ambedkar has expressed agreement on all raised issues, signifying unity within the alliance.

Amid preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Congress party has conducted a two-day training camp in Lonavala. The discussions during the camp primarily focused on bolstering the organizational structure, with a keen eye on Mumbai Congress’s readiness for the electoral battle ahead.
