On a momentous Monday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde unveiled the inaugural phase of Mumbai’s ambitious coastal road project, marking a significant stride towards enhancing the city’s connectivity and infrastructure.
The ceremonial inauguration heralded the opening of a 10.5-kilometre stretch, spanning from Worli to Marine Drive in south Mumbai. An official statement earlier delineated that motorists would have access to the coastal road via entry points at Worli Seaface, Haji Ali interchange, and Amarson’s interchange, with convenient exit options available at Marine Lines.
The grand unveiling witnessed the esteemed presence of Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, alongside other dignitaries, as they commemorated the realization of the south-bound corridor of the coastal road.
Embarking on its ambitious journey on October 13, 2018, the coastal road project has been a testament to relentless perseverance and meticulous planning. With a projected cost amounting to Rs 12,721 crore, the endeavor signifies a substantial investment in Mumbai’s infrastructure, poised to revolutionize the city’s transportation landscape.
