Avoiding the full lockdown in Maharashtra, the government has decided to impose weekend lockdown in the state.The decision was taken during the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday.
As per reports, the weekend lockdown will start from Friday 8 pm till Monday 7 am. However, the night curfew will go as it is. During night restriction, only essential services will be permitted.
Govt offices will work at 50% capacity: theatres, gardens and playgrounds will be shut to avoid any gatherings of people.
But, all sorts of construction and industrial activity will continue and markets will be allowed to function.
