Maharashtra BJP leader Nitesh Rane triggered controversy after making sharp remarks targeting AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi during the Nashik TCS case row.

Mumbai: Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane has triggered a major political controversy after he described Kerala as “mini-Pakistan” during a rally in Purandar Taluka, Pune. The statement has drawn strong condemnation, particularly from opposition leaders.

Rane, who serves as the state’s Fisheries Minister, made the remark while addressing a crowd at the rally.  Rane said, “Kerala is mini Pakistan that is why Rahul Gandhi and his sister are elected from there. All terrorists vote for them. This is the truth, you can ask. They have become MPs after taking terrorists with them.”

The remark has caused a storm of criticism. Congress spokesperson Atul Londhe Patil condemned Rane’s statement, calling it “unfortunate.” Speaking to ANI, Patil questioned the logic behind Rane’s comments, highlighting Kerala’s integral role within India. “Kerala is part of India, our people live there. If they feel that it is becoming like Pakistan, the Governor is made by themselves only, then why is the Governor not able to give information? The Home Minister is Amit Shah, all the agencies are under them. This is bad politics,” Patil remarked.

Patil also lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for not taking action against Rane. He questioned the need for Rane to remain part of the Maharashtra Cabinet, saying, “Rane’s work is to do this only.”
