In a resounding call to arms against perceived threats to democracy and social justice, Shiv Sena party chief and former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray rallied supporters at a historic gathering in Dharavi. Amidst the backdrop of growing political polarization, Thackeray proclaimed his allegiance to socialism and vowed to combat what he termed as the rising tide of authoritarianism.
Speaking at the founding meeting of the ‘Samajwadi Ganrajya Party’, under the leadership of MLC Kapil Patil, Thackeray echoed the sentiments of unity and solidarity among the marginalized sections of society. The event, held at the Mahatma Phule Education Trust grounds, drew a diverse array of attendees, including representatives from the Samajwadi Janata Parivar and various mass organizations across the state.
Addressing the gathering, Kapil Patil reiterated the party’s commitment to democratic values and its alignment with the Mahavikas Aghadi coalition in Maharashtra. Emphasizing the need to confront fascist forces, Patil underscored the importance of reorganizing political parties to champion socialist ideals and uphold the principles of democracy.
