Mumbai: The war of words between former chief minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Minister for Minority Affairs, Nawab Malik on Tuesday got even uglier. Speaking to newspersons here at state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office, the former chief minister alleged that Solidus, a company owned by Nawab Malik’s family had bought a 3 acre plot of land on LBS road, Kurla, belonging to March 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blast accused at throw away price. Fadnavis questioned Malik as to “Why did you do business with the killers of Mumbai?”
Earlier, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis had refuted all the allegations laid by Nawab Malik on him and his wife Amruta Fadnavis links with alleged drug peddlers. He had then said that he will expose the NCP leaders links with the underworld after Diwali.
After Fadnavis’s media interaction, Malik had cryptically tweeted that he was coming, but decided to postpone his media interaction.
The Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, alleged “In Kurla there is a 3 acre plot called Goawala compound on LBS Road. This plot has a registry with Solidus Investments Private Limited. This company is related to Nawab Malik’s family. He was also on the company board of directors but he resigned after he became a minister. This plot was bought from underworld people for ₹ 30 lakh, but only ₹ 20 lakh were paid,” Fadnavis alleged.
He further claimed that Sardar Shah Wali Khan and Salim Patel sold the land on LBS road to a company named Solidus. Fadnavis remarked “This is not Salim-Javed story but a very serious matter of National importance. I wish to introduce and talk about two people and their backgrounds, Sardar Shah Wali Khan and Mohmmad Salim Ishaq Patel. This story is about Sardar Shah Wali Khan who is convicted in 2007 by Tada Court for Life Imprisonment in 1993 Mumbai Bomb Blast. The Supreme Court confirmed the said sentence in 2013.”
Fadnavis further added, “Another person is Mohammad Salim Ishaq Patel alias Salim Patel as he is known – front man of Haseena Parker. He was arrested in 2007 with Haseena Parkar in land grabbing and other fraud issues. He has been her frontman in property grabbing matters”.
“Solidus investment is Nawab Malik’s company and land was purchased from these underworld criminals. The 3 acre land at LBS road got purchased only for ₹20 lakh while its original value is ₹3 crore! Why did you purchase land from criminals of Mumbai? Nawab Malik, why did you do business with the killers of Mumbai?”, quizzed Fadnavis.
Commenting upon his charge against the NCP minister, he added “In such serious matters where underworld, bomb blast convicts have connections with Minister Nawab Malik, I will submit the documents to appropriate agencies for further investigation.” He also said that he has more details and he will submit them to NCP president Sharad Pawar.
