The Hague, The Netherlands: The Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla arrived at Netherlands on dated 21 august 2022 on an official visit. He arrived in Amsterdam with the members of the Indian Parliamentary delegation on the way to Halifax, Canada to participate in the 65th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference and received a warm welcome from Ambassador of India Reenat Sandhu.
He then headed straight to Sewa Dham Hindu Center. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla offered prayers at Sewa Dham Hindu Centre in The Hague and conveyed his greetings to the Surinami-Hindustani community and gifted a Ganesha idol to the temple as a mark of reverence. He also appreciated the work of Seva Dham Hindu Centre in spreading peace and harmony among people.
Addressing the Indian Diaspora in Netherlands, Speaker Om Birla shared his thoughts with dignitaries at the reception ceremony hosted by Indian Embassy for the IPD at India House. Highlighting India’s Socio-Economic progress and relevance of Digital India, Start-ups and innovations.
Later he shared his happiness over the achievements and aspirations of New India and welcomed their enthusiasm to contribute to India’s progress. As brand ambassadors of India, the community members serve as a strong and good link between India and the Netherlands and further asked the members to be an active partner in nation-building and participate in groups, tasks, discussions, polls, blogs and talks and believe their contribution would make a difference in a positive way!
