Srinagar: In its continuous efforts and war against menace of drugs Kupwara Police on Friday arrested a notorious drug smuggler in the jurisdiction of Police Station Karnah.
A police party from the Police Post Taad headed by ASI Muneer Ahmad conducted Patrolling operations at Sudhpora Forward. During checking the Police party intercepted one person namely Tanzeer Ahmad Najar S/O Mohammed Sayeed Najar R/O Sudhpora who was moving around in a very suspicious manner. During the search of the said person 4 Kgs of Heroin has been recovered from his possession and he has been arrested and taken into Police custody.
A case FIR No. 94/21 U/S 8/21, NDPS act has been registered in Police Station Karnah against the accused person and investigation has been taken up.
People in general and particularly people of Karnah Kupwara have hailed the efforts of Kupwara police in curbing the menace of drugs in the area. Kupwara police again appeals to the general public of the area to share all information about the social evils so that timely action can be taken against the culprits.
