“Congress Is Telangana’s Biggest Enemy”: KTR Launches Fresh Attack on Revanth Reddy Government

KTR Escalates Political Offensive Against Congress

Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president K.T. Rama Rao intensified his criticism of Telangana’s Congress government on Wednesday, accusing Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s administration of pushing the state into decline after years of growth under the previous BRS regime.

Speaking at a media interaction in Hyderabad, KTR alleged that Telangana’s progress had slowed significantly since the change of government in 2023. He claimed the Congress had secured power through ambitious promises but had failed to meet public expectations after taking office.

Claims of Broken Promises and Governance Failures

The senior BRS leader argued that multiple sections of society, including farmers, youth, women and government employees, were becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the state’s performance. According to him, several welfare commitments announced during the election campaign remain unfulfilled, leading to growing public frustration.

KTR also questioned the government’s handling of public finances, alleging that the administration had increased borrowing while failing to demonstrate visible improvements in infrastructure and governance.

Farmers Become Key Focus of Criticism

Agriculture emerged as a central theme of KTR’s attack. He accused the government of failing to ensure smooth paddy procurement and claimed many farmers were facing hardships due to delays and inadequate arrangements at procurement centres.

He further alleged that policies being discussed by the state and central governments could eventually weaken the free electricity support system available to farmers. The BRS leader said his party would strongly oppose any move that affects agricultural power subsidies.

BRS Confident About Electoral Comeback

Projecting confidence ahead of future elections, KTR asserted that the BRS remains a strong political force and would perform decisively if the state went to polls today. He also challenged the Congress leadership to seek a fresh public mandate and defended the governance record of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

The remarks mark another chapter in the intensifying political battle between the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS, with both sides increasingly focusing on governance, welfare delivery and rural issues as key political battlegrounds ahead of the next electoral contest.
