New Delhi: Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, claiming that even members of his own party feel uneasy whenever he speaks in Parliament. Rijiju, who also holds the Minority Affairs portfolio, alleged that Gandhi “listens to no one” and often ends up embarrassing his own party.

In an interview with news agency, Rijiju said, “Whenever Rahul Gandhi says something, all his MPs become very uncomfortable. They fear he will speak nonsense, and the party will have to pay the price for it. In a democracy, the Opposition should be strong… but Congress is failing even in performing the basic duties of an Opposition.”

Taking a swipe at Gandhi’s earlier “chowkidar chor hai” slogan targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rijiju recalled how the Supreme Court had pulled him up over the remark. “He was scolded by the Supreme Court for calling the Prime Minister a thief and for speaking baselessly about the Rafale deal,” Rijiju said.

The Union Minister further accused Gandhi of habitually undermining institutions whenever the Congress loses elections. “Each time they face defeat, they start attacking the government, the judiciary, and the Election Commission. This is not constructive politics,” he remarked.

Warning that Gandhi was treading a “dangerous track,” Rijiju alleged that the Congress leader was aligning himself with external forces. “George Soros has openly spoken about destabilising the Indian government with one trillion dollars. Anti-India Khalistani groups in Canada, the US, and the UK, along with Leftist organisations, are working against the country. Rahul Gandhi and Congress are moving in coordination with them, weakening the nation,” Rijiju claimed.
