Political Clash Intensifies Over Ayodhya Donation Row
A fresh political confrontation erupted on Friday after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a sharp attack on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, accusing his party of leaving Delhi in a state of corruption despite being in power for over a decade.
Addressing a public gathering in Deoria, Yogi took a direct swipe at the former Delhi Chief Minister and later shared a video of his speech on X.
He wrote, “A gentleman from Delhi has come here. He has given nothing but ruin and corruption to Delhi.”
The remarks came at a time when the alleged Ayodhya Ram Temple donation theft case has become a major political issue, drawing reactions from leaders across party lines.
Kejriwal Fires Back With Sharp Challenge
Kejriwal, who had earlier offered prayers at the Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, responded strongly to Yogi Adityanath’s criticism and urged him to support action against those accused in the donation case instead of targeting him.
In a post on X, Kejriwal wrote: “Maharaj ji. Why are you siding with the donation thieves? These donation thieves are plotting to remove you as well. They won’t even let you keep your chair. In my struggle to get the demons of the great robbery at Lord Ram’s home hanged publicly, please stand with me. Do not become a partner in this great sin.”
The AAP chief’s remarks escalated the political battle, with the focus shifting from governance to the ongoing investigation into the alleged donation theft.
Ram Temple Trust Officials Resign
The exchange between the two leaders came on the same day that Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust General Secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra resigned, taking moral responsibility in connection with the alleged Ram Temple donation theft case.
Their resignations followed the registration of an FIR against several accused under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 306, 316(5), 317(4), 317(5), 61 and 3(5).
The FIR names Anukalp Mishra, Lavkush Mishra, Avinash Shukla, Tinnu Yadav, Manish Yadav and others in connection with the alleged misappropriation of temple donations.
Political Temperature Rises
With the investigation progressing and senior Trust officials stepping down, the Ayodhya donation case has turned into a major political flashpoint. The latest exchange between Yogi Adityanath and Arvind Kejriwal is expected to intensify the political debate further as the investigation continues.
