Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah accused the BJP of deliberately attempting to disrupt peace in the state ahead of a planned party delegation visit to Maddur. He stated, “The BJP’s intention and work is to disturb peace. Earlier, they had organised a Chamundi Betta Chalo rally. RSS members and others from different places had come to Mysuru…They all gathered and worked to disrupt peace…Now in Mandya’s Maddur, violence has taken place…Before the BJP even said anything, we had already arrested 21 people. Be it Muslim, Christian, or anyone else, we will take action according to the law.”
Siddaramaiah highlighted that law enforcement had acted swiftly to arrest 21 individuals involved in the violence, stressing that action would be taken irrespective of religion or affiliation. The CM’s remarks come amid heightened political tension in Mandya and Mysuru, reflecting ongoing clashes and confrontations surrounding party activities in the region.
