Kanpur: Four days after a dramatic luxury car accident shook Kanpur, police on Thursday arrested Shivam Mishra, son of prominent tobacco businessman KK Mishra, in connection with the incident involving a high-end Lamborghini.

According to officials, Shivam was allegedly behind the wheel of the nearly ₹10 crore supercar when it ploughed into multiple vehicles and pedestrians near Rev-3 Mall in the Gwaltoli area on Sunday afternoon. The crash occurred at around 3:15 pm and left at least six people injured.

Following his detention, Shivam Mishra was taken for a medical examination as part of standard legal procedure. Authorities confirmed that he will be presented before a local court.

Eyewitness accounts suggest the luxury vehicle lost control before slamming into an autorickshaw and then crashing into a motorcycle. The impact reportedly hurled the biker nearly 10 feet into the air, while the motorcycle was dragged for several metres. The speeding car then struck an electric pole before finally coming to a stop.

Preliminary reports indicate that the accused was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. Police are continuing their investigation to determine the sequence of events and assess charges based on medical and forensic findings.
