New Delhi: With the Delhi Assembly elections fast approaching, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda chaired an important meeting with party workers and leaders at the BJP office in the national capital on Thursday. The gathering marked the first meeting of the Election Management Committee for the Delhi unit, which included 23 senior party leaders.
The committee is set to play a crucial role in the lead-up to the February 5, 2025, Delhi Assembly elections, where all 70 seats in the Delhi Legislative Assembly will be contested. The second round of meetings is scheduled soon, focusing on strategy discussions, where all 43 departments within the committee, consisting of 56 members, will provide detailed feedback and coordinate efforts for the election campaign.
During the meeting, JP Nadda emphasized the significance of organizing committees that cover key areas such as booth management, social media outreach, advertisements, and voter mobilization. Members of the Election Management Committee will report on the progress of their respective tasks, which are vital for the party’s success in the upcoming polls.
In addition to reviewing the functioning of various committees, the meeting focused on the work done by core members, who will continue to refine the party’s election strategies. The committee will meet regularly in the coming weeks to ensure smooth coordination for the election process.
Nadda’s leadership and guidance were central to the meeting, with an eye on crafting a strategy to take on the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has dominated Delhi politics with consecutive electoral victories in 2015 and 2020. As the BJP prepares for a two-pronged challenge from both AAP and Congress, the focus will be on targeting key constituencies and boosting voter engagement.
The BJP has made significant strides in the Delhi political arena, and under Nadda’s leadership, the party is looking to secure a stronger foothold. Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeva will also play a pivotal role in the review meetings, ensuring that the party’s election machinery is in full gear.
