J&K Police arrested notorious and wanted drug peddler in Baramulla, contraband substance recovered

Srinagar: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, J&K Police have arrested drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

A police party of police station Pattan headed by SHO PS Pattan along with IC PP Wussan at a checkpoint established at Wussan Pattan, intercepted one person who was identified as Mohammad Amir Dar, son of Abdul Khaliq resident of Khambiyar, Palhallan. During the search of his person 3.250 kgs of contraband Poppy Straw like substances was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Pattan where he remained in custody.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law have been registered at police station Pattan and investigation has been initiated.

“We urge the common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact nearest police establishment or dial 112. People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law”, said J&K Police in a statement issued here on Friday.
