New Delhi: BJP MP Sambit Patra launched a sharp counterattack on Thursday against Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Jairam Ramesh, accusing them of constantly seeking to undermine India’s international image while targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Responding to Congress MP Jairam Ramesh’s tweet on reports of the U.S. extending an invitation to Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir, Patra said: “Jairam Ramesh and Rahul Gandhi are always in a hurry to put India in the dock in the name of attacking PM Modi. They said the same things about the G7. But where will they hide their faces regarding that? There is no need to take them seriously. Today, India stands very high on the global platform.”
Patra’s remarks reflect the BJP’s growing frustration with the Congress’s criticism of India’s foreign policy and diplomatic engagements.
