Air India London-Bound Flight Crashes Near Ahmedabad, 242 Onboard; CM Bhupendra Patel, Amit Shah Review Situation

Ahmedabad: A major aviation accident occurred on Thursday as an Air India flight heading to London crashed in the Meghani area near Ahmedabad airport shortly after takeoff. The incident sent shockwaves across the region, with visuals circulating on social media showing thick plumes of smoke rising from the crash site.

According to news agency, the flight had 242 passengers onboard at the time of the crash.

The flight had just departed from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport when the mishap occurred. Emergency services rushed to the site, and efforts are ongoing to assess damage and provide aid to those affected.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has reportedly rushed to Ahmedabad to take stock of the situation firsthand.

As per report, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also held a discussion with CM Patel regarding the crash. The central government has assured full assistance in handling the crisis.
