Mumbai: Former CM of the state Ashok Chavan is under surveillance, he is being constantly followed and a plot to assassinate him has come to light. On the other hand, there are reports that a contract to kill MP Sanjay Raut has been given. Such incidents are on the rise in the state. Is this a conspiracy by the ruling parties to eliminate the opposition?, questioned Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Nana Patole.
Speaking in this regard, Congress state president Nana Patole said that the former chief minister of the state and senior leader of the Congress party, Ashok Chavan, has complained to the police that a private person is keeping a watch on him and there is an attempt to assassinate him. Why is the former chief minister of the state being followed? The police and the state government should take serious note of this and investigate the incident and the culprits should be severely punished. MP Sanjay Raut has also complained that a contract to kill him has been given.
Patole further added that if the people in power are working to eliminate the opposition, it is a blot on the democratic system. If attempts are being made to eliminate the opposition in the state of great men like Shahu, Phule, and Ambedkar it will never be tolerated. This kind of politics has never existed in Maharashtra before. If such things are happening at the behest of the people sitting in power, it is a very scary situation for the state.
Patole demanded that the state government should take the case of Ashok Chavan and MP Sanjay Raut’s case seriously and appropriate action should be taken. The law and order in the state have deteriorated in the last six-seven months. Especially when the people of the ruling party are bullying others in broad daylight. Opponents are treated as enemies and plans to eliminate them are being made.
He recalled that in the last month, Congresswoman MLA Dr. Pragya Satav was attacked. Former minister Aaditya Thackeray’s car was attacked in Aurangabad. The ruling MLA opened fire on opposition party workers. It is the MLAs who are talking about breaking the bones of all those who oppose them. The state president of Congress also said that the state government should pay immediate attention to this matter and bring the culprits to book.
