New Delhi: BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the opposition’s INDIA bloc, accusing its members of trying to push a “Sharia-like” agenda in Bihar.
Speaking to reporters, Trivedi questioned whether the alliance was planning to bring in laws harsher than those in countries like Saudi Arabia or Turkey. “I want to ask the INDI alliance, are you thinking of implementing Sharia law in Bihar, which is bigger than Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Turkey and ISIS?” he remarked.
Trivedi also targeted parties like the RJD and Samajwadi Party, saying they had failed to protect the rights of poor and oppressed Muslims. “These parties, who claim to follow socialism, are in reality not standing up for poor Muslims. Their socialism should rather be called ‘Namazvad’, and that would not be an exaggeration,” he said.
The BJP leader warned that his party, along with its NDA allies, would never allow any attempt to undermine the Indian Constitution. “If anyone wants to throw Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s constitution, or any of its provisions, into the dustbin, we will not let that happen,” he asserted.
