New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has intervened in the case of Indian student Neelam Shinde, who recently met with an accident in the United States. The ministry has formally approached US authorities to expedite the visa process for her father, Tanaji Shinde, enabling him to travel at the earliest.

Neelam, a native of Maharashtra’s Satara district, remains hospitalized, prompting her family’s urgent appeal for an emergency visa. Amid growing concern, NCP MP Supriya Sule raised the issue on social media, urging External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to step in.

“Student Neelam Shinde has met with an accident in the USA and is hospitalized. Her father, Tanaji Shinde, urgently needs to visit her but requires assistance with an emergency visa,” Sule wrote on X, amplifying calls for swift action.
