Mumbai: Indian Railways has officially discontinued the facility to book local train monthly passes through the UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) app. Passengers commuting on Mumbai’s suburban network are now directed to use the RailOne app for all new pass bookings.

Travelers whose existing passes are still valid can continue to display them via the UTS app for ticket checks. However, the option to book new passes on UTS has been permanently removed, with a message now prompting users to switch to RailOne for pass-related services. Unreserved ticket booking will continue on the UTS app without disruption.

In an effort to encourage digital payments, the Ministry of Railways announced a 3% discount on unreserved ticket purchases via RailOne when paid using digital modes such as UPI, debit cards, or credit cards. The offer will be valid from January 14 to July 14, 2026. Previously, discounts were limited to payments made through the app’s R-wallet, but the new policy extends benefits across all digital payment methods.

The RailOne app, available on both Play Store and App Store, offers a range of services including monthly pass booking, unreserved and reserved ticket booking, refunds, PNR status checks, train search, and even onboard food ordering. Passengers can also continue to book monthly passes at Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters at railway stations.
