Mumbai: Moscow Fashion Week, a premier global fashion event, is set to take place from March 13 to 18, bringing together designers, models, stylists, and industry experts from around the world. This year’s edition will feature around 200 Russian and international brands, making it a key platform for emerging and established designers alike.
While the event will highlight renowned Russian labels, it will also showcase talent from countries like China, South Africa, Indonesia, the USA, Spain, and Turkey. India will have a significant presence this spring, represented by two distinguished brands under the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI): Centre of Excellence for Khadi – Khadi India and Designer Samant Chauhan
Khadi India: Weaving Tradition with Sustainability
Khadi India holds a special place in Indian culture, embodying values of self-sufficiency and sustainability. The brand promotes conscious fashion by supporting local artisans and craftsmanship. Its presence at Moscow Fashion Week aligns with a growing global appreciation for ethical and sustainable fashion.

Samant Chauhan: Elevating Indian Craftsmanship
Renowned for his intricate embroidery on Bhagalpur silk, Samant Chauhan has earned international acclaim. As a regular participant in global fashion events, he views Moscow Fashion Week as a significant platform for expanding his brand’s global reach.
“Moscow Fashion Week is a prestigious stage to showcase our designs to an international audience. This is a vital opportunity for us to engage with a new market, connect with buyers and fashion enthusiasts in Russia, and strengthen the synergy between Indian craftsmanship and Russian aesthetics,” said Samant Chauhan.
Strengthening Indo-Russian Fashion Ties
Indian designers frequently grace the Moscow Fashion Week runways, thanks to the strong collaboration between MFW and FDCI. This fashion exchange extends both ways—last year, the Russian brand MEASURE, known for its modest fashion aesthetics, impressed audiences at Lakmé Fashion Week X FDCI in India. Now, MEASURE is set to make its mark once again at Moscow Fashion Week.
Another celebrated Russian brand, SOLANGEL, continues to attract global attention with its luxurious evening wear adorned with crystals. The brand’s designs have been worn by Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Ornella Muti, and recently, Jennifer Lopez, who donned a custom-made leopard-print jumpsuit by SOLANGEL in the UAE.
A Global Platform for Emerging and Established Designers
With around 100 fashion shows, a dedicated marketplace for Russian brands, and engaging activities, Moscow Fashion Week is a vital platform for nurturing new talent. By fostering cross-cultural collaborations, the event strengthens the global fashion landscape and provides a unique opportunity for Indian designers to shine on an international stage.
