“India Not Invited? It’s an Insult”: Sanjay Raut Slams Modi Govt Over G7 Snub

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is unlikely to attend the upcoming G7 summit in Canada, sparking sharp political reactions. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut expressed strong disappointment over India’s absence from the guest list, calling it a national insult and demanding accountability from the top leadership.

“You should ask PM and his supporters to give an answer. We felt bad and consider this an insult to India that our country has not been invited. Jaishankar ji should give an answer,” Raut said, referring to External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar.

The G7, comprising major global powers including the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, and Japan, often extends invitations to non-member countries for expanded discussions. India has been a regular invitee in recent years under Modi’s leadership, attending the 2023 summit in Hiroshima and previous meetings virtually or in person.
