Mumbai: The Death Committee in its analysis found that 31 per cent of the total deaths due to Corona in Mumbai so far occurred within 24 hours of hospitalization.
Though the number of corona patients day by day is decreasing in Mumbai, the delay in understanding the disease or the negligence of patients is accelerating the pace of death.
The Death Review Committee was formed by the state government to reduce deaths due to corona. The committee has presented its third report to the government, which suggests insisting on immediate diagnosed and treatment of the disease.

While about 1, 14,000 people have been cured of this disease. More than 7,500 people have died due to this disease till now. The Death Review Committee has analyzed 5,200 deaths, of which 31 percent of patients died just within 24 hours of hospitalization.
About 59 per cent of the patients die within 4 days after hospitalization.
“Somewhere there is some delay in patients reaching hospitals for treatment. Also, some patient’s health gets deteriorated due to hiding the disease which result in death just within sometime after the patient gets admitted to the hospital”, said Dr. Om Srivastava, a member of the Covid Task Force
Dr. Avinash Supe, Head of the Death Committee, said, “Patients should contact the doctor without any hesitation or neglecting their health condition. Negligence may cause delay in identifying the disease Corona due to which the treatment gets delayed and which cause of immediate death. In such a situation, both the administration and the citizens have to play their role to fill this gap. Anyway, the death toll in Mumbai is reduced than before. The patient can be saved with the help of timely investigation and immediate treatment.”
