Why NCP is not continuing with the pothole selfie initiative questions Ashish Shelar

Mumbai: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Ashish Shelar lashed out at the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), for not raising the issues of potholes like the party did last year, during BJP’s regime. In a bid to draw attention on this issue, Shelar wrote a letter to the Minister for Public Works, Ashok Chavan and raised various issues.

Shelar has tweeted and raised questions to NCP about the potholes. “Why the NCP party is not carrying out its commendable initiative of taking selfie of the potholes on the roads of the Mumbai-Goa highway like they did last year.  Why are workers going to Konkan harassed so much this year? Why is the entire highway looking in bad condition,” tweeted Shelar.

Shelar wrote a letter to the Public Works minister, Ashok Chavan on Sunday. In the letter, Shelar has raised several questions like why did Maharashtra Vikas (MVA) government, why confuse the workers who were going to Konkan, why was E-passes not issued on time to the travellers and why the State Transport buses and trains were not made available.

Further, Shelar has written in the letter that during the BJP government, a time bound program was taken to fill the potholes appeared on the roads, but at that time, the NCP politicized the issue by taking selfies with the potholes. But this time, when NCP itself is a part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi that is why not raising the issue of potholes this time.

On this issue when thenews21, spoke to Nawab Malik he said, “We are still working on the issues of potholes. Our workers are raising the issue of potholes from wherever they get complaints or they themselves find potholes. If anyone wants to check whether we are still working on the issue of potholes can go on my official twitter handle and see.”
