I am complaining from 2011 but no action taken, says Neha Dubey residence of Nallasopara
Palghar: A survey conducted by Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) last year with the help of IIT Bombay and Neeri revealed that the illegal constructions on the gutter is the main reason for water logging in the municipal limits. Last year VVMC surveyed to know the reason why water logging happens and it was carried out by IIT Bombay and Neeri with a whopping amount of Rs 12 cr.
Water logging in parts of Mumbai and nearby districts is common in monsoon every year. However, to stop water logging residents of the area file complaints in Municipal Corporation in the hope that they will come out with some solution. Just like this, Neha Dubey residence of Nallasopara is filing complaints in VVMC from 10 years to stop water logging in her area.

“I am a resident of Nallasopara and I am complaining about water logging from 2011 in my area. But there is no action on it, VVMC is doing nothing. There are many illegal constructions on gutters and they have built buildings on it. Because of this, there is no place for gutter and this leads to water logging. I have complained to Manali Shinde who is Additional Commissioner of D ward but still no action on it,” said Neha Dubey to TheNews21.
“After Manali Shinde took charge of D ward, illegal construction started soaring up. I request the higher authorities to remove her or take strict action against her. Whenever we go to complain officials say there is time for monsoon and as monsoon starts there is no one to listen,” adds Neha.
“VVMC’s Deputy Commissioner Dr Kishor Gavas on November 20, 2019, had given orders to Manali Shinde to take legal action on illegal construction, it has been 8 months now no action has been taken,” concludes Neha Dubey.
TheNews21 tried to contact Manali Shinde (Additional Commissioner of D) ward for her quote but there was no response from her side.
