Patna: Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) national president Chirag Paswan on Thursday sent a clear message to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), asserting his ministerial authority while signaling a firm stance in the ongoing seat-sharing negotiations for Bihar’s assembly elections.

Speaking to reporters, Paswan, Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, stated, “Talks are underway… I have other responsibilities too. I am a minister too… I am going to the ministry at the moment.” His words underline his intent to remain decisive in Bihar’s high-stakes political battlefield.

The remarks come amid an intense tussle within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) over seat allocations. While Paswan stands his ground, BJP leaders are actively trying to smooth tensions. On Thursday, Union MoS Nityanand Rai met Paswan at his official residence in New Delhi to discuss the seat-sharing arrangement. Earlier, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP’s Bihar poll in-charge, along with Bihar Minister Mangal Pandey and BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde, had also met Paswan to advance talks.
