Hyderabad: Several parts of Hyderabad, including the Old City, have been inundated after the Musi River went into spate following heavy rainfall and the release of water from two overflowing major reservoirs, Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar.

The incessant rain has put low-lying areas at significant risk. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed officials to carry out immediate evacuations to ensure public safety.

Residents from affected areas were moved to relief camps late on Friday, where authorities are providing food, water, and other essential supplies.

Floodwaters also entered the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS), disrupting bus operations. Stranded passengers were promptly evacuated by authorities to ensure safety and minimize chaos.
