Mumbai: Despite receiving two separate notices from the Bhima Koregaon Inquiry Commission, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) chief and former Maharashtra CM Sharad Pawar has failed to submit crucial documents, including a letter written to then Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray regarding the Bhima Koregaon violence. This has led the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) to question whether Pawar has now lost interest in the matter.

The Commission had first issued a written directive asking Pawar to submit by April 30, 2025, a copy of his letter dated January 24, 2020, along with related documents. Despite this, he did not respond.

Following this, a second notice was issued directing him to file the documents by May 13, 2025. However, Pawar once again failed to appear before the commission or submit the required papers.

In the letter in question, Pawar had made serious allegations, claiming that the Bhima Koregaon violence was a conspiracy orchestrated by the then BJP-led government under Devendra Fadnavis. He had accused the administration of misusing power, protecting the real culprits, and manipulating evidence, and demanded a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the incident.

Now, with Pawar failing to furnish that very letter and related documents to the commission, VBA has raised doubts about his intent and commitment to justice in the Bhima Koregaon case.
