Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar today announced Standard Operating Procedure for the commencement of film and TV programme shootings amid Covid pandemic.
Mr Javadekar said Film and TV industry is an important industry that employs millions of people and the SoP has been issued after consultations with Home Ministry and Health Ministry.
He said that shooting and production for TV and films can now begin throughout the country.
Mr Javadekar said many parts of the country have seen complete closure of this segment of industry and few states have allowed partial shooting but today government is issuing SOP as per international experience.
He expressed confidence that the decision will be welcomed by everyone related to the film and TV industry.
He said the Film and TV industry is an important aspect of economy and it offers employment to millions of people.
