Mumbai: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is ready to turn tables on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which after causing political turmoil by destabilizing the state governments of Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, and was eyeing Maharashtra next. Ajit Pawar, nephew of party supremo Sharad Pawar and state NCP president Jayant Patil have been entrusted the responsibility of this job.
According to sources, the NCP is planning a strategy to bring back some BJP leaders. An important meeting was held between Sharad Pawar, Jayant Patil and Ajit Pawar yesterday. It is learned that the return of these leaders was discussed at the meeting. It is also being said that Shiv Sena and Congress will be taken into confidence by the NCP when the MLAs will be re-admitted.
NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik, did not deny the news. He told thenews21 that, it has being long under consideration to re-admit some of senior leaders from BJP including a few MLA who had left the NCP before the elections. Our leaders are thinking about it.
Just as during the Assembly elections, the BJP undertook Operation Lotus and took away NCP leaders and drained the NCP leaving five to ten top leaders. It is understood from the reliable sources that the same formula is being devised by Sharad Pawar now.
Meanwhile, ‘If we have some BJP MLAs in touch with us, we will say something like that in public! If any BJP MLA comes to us, they will have to resign, after coming to us, they can also get elected,’ said NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal.
