Baramati: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar on Monday reached out to the family of Vidhip Jadhav, the security officer who lost his life in the tragic Baramati plane crash, offering emotional support and reassurance during their time of deep loss.

Vidhip Jadhav, who was part of the security detail assigned to former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, died when a small chartered aircraft crashed while attempting to land near Baramati airport. All passengers on board, including Ajit Pawar, were killed in the accident.

Despite facing personal tragedy herself, Sunetra Pawar visited Jadhav’s home in Tardgaon village of Phaltan taluka. The visit was marked by visible emotion as she comforted Jadhav’s wife and children, assuring them that the state and she personally would stand with them in every possible way.

Witnesses described the moment as deeply moving, with Sunetra Pawar offering words of strength and solidarity to the bereaved family. Her gesture was seen as a reflection of compassion beyond political responsibility.

Only days earlier, Sunetra Pawar had taken oath as Maharashtra’s first woman Deputy Chief Minister at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, where the Governor administered the oath of office. Her appointment marked a historic moment in the state’s political landscape.

The tragic crash occurred shortly after the aircraft departed from Mumbai in the morning. Roughly 45 minutes into the journey, the plane met with an accident near Baramati, leaving no survivors. Ajit Pawar was later cremated with full state honours, with leaders from across party lines attending his last rites.

Ajit Pawar had been a towering figure in Maharashtra politics, holding the Deputy Chief Minister’s post six times under different governments. His long public career spanned multiple administrations and left a lasting imprint on the state’s political history.
